Fixed booth layouts lock you into party sizes: a four-seat booth with two guests in it is half empty. The Rail does the opposite. It is one long, undivided seat, the classic European banquette, served by small 27.5 in (70 cm) square tables that slide together or apart as parties arrive. Two guests take one table; six take three.
Why it adds covers. Because seat positions are not fixed, a continuous run seats more guests at busy times and wastes fewer seats on mismatched parties than a run of separate booths of the same length. On our reference 189 in run, it seats up to 12.
Construction. Continuous plywood and hardwood seat box, vertical channel back, high-resilience foam, contract vinyl or fabric, recessed base. Tables on black steel square columns with metal foot plates.
Where it works. Long walls in fast casual and cafe rooms, food halls and brunch concepts with mixed party sizes.
