More fast casual and cafe concepts now run from breakfast into evening drinks. The Shift lets one booth serve both: its 27.5 in (70 cm) square tables ride on gas-lift columns that set at standard 30 in (76 cm) dining height for meals or drop to 20.5 in (52 cm) for coffee and drinks, with no furniture swap and no storage room full of spare tables.
Construction. Plywood and hardwood booth with a horizontally banded back, high-resilience foam and contract vinyl or fabric. Tables in wood veneer or laminate on matte-black gas-lift columns with an adjustment collar and a round metal base. Gas-lift columns are bought-in components; we specify them for commercial duty and supply replacement guidance.
Accessibility note. At 30 in, the tables sit inside the ADA 28-34 in dining-surface range; at 20.5 in they do not. Plan accessible seating elsewhere if these tables are lowered for evening service.
Where it works. All-day cafes, brunch-to-bar concepts, hotel grab-and-go lounges.
